Jesus our Rock

Jerusalem Wall

Isaiah 26:3-4
The steadfast of mind Thou wilt keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in Thee. Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.

Most of our battles with our enemy, Satan, begin in the mind. He comes in with his lies. If we listen, he’ll keep talking. He whispers lies to our mind in order to wear us down. We have a choice. Which voice will we listen to? God’s or Satan’s?
If we fill our mind with God’s word and His truth, we will have ready answers when the enemy comes to call. We need to steady our mind on what God says. Then God says we will be kept in perfect peace because our minds are on His wavelength. We trust in Him and what He says.
God’s word draws word pictures. In today’s scripture He says He’s our everlasting Rock. The word “Rock” here means “a high wall or cliff; a rock with a flat surface.” In this instance, I see us on a high cliff, out of danger of flood waters; in His everlasting place of safety which He prepared for those whose eyes and minds are glued on what He says.

Father God, may I not be enticed to let my mind wander from Your place of security and safety. May I ever keep Your word front and center
in my mind and heart.

I have been using this Scripture at the end of my email for awhile now, but sometimes neglect to meditate on it myself. Hmmm. It’s so true, our mind can either be fertile ground for God or the enemy. Every day it’s a choice we must make, to fill our mind with God’s Word and fully trust in the Living Word (Christ) to protect us from the thoughts of the flesh and the devil. Dear Jesus, please cleanse my mind daily so I may bear much spiritual fruit for Your Kingdom. Thanks, Sally, for your faithfulness to lift up Jesus through your devotionals.

Great line, “If we listen (satan) will keep talking.” Choosing to listen to the great voice of TRUTH instead of the father of lies.
