God’s Child

Colossians 1:13
For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.

Before Jesus, we were under the power of Satan. We were bound to submit to his authority over us—whether we wanted to or not.

When Jesus arose from His grave, it was the undeniable evidence that He defeated sin and death for all time. He extended this mercy to any who would yield their life to Him.

When we yield to Jesus, He removes us from Satan’s iron-clad grip and installs us as citizens of His kingdom with all its rights and privileges. He tells us He has seated us with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). We will reign with Him (II Timothy 2:12, Revelation 20:6).

That transfer of citizenship is immediate. We don’t have to wait until we die. From that moment on, our lives are never the same. We are no longer His creation. We are now God’s own children (John 1:12).

Father God, we rejoice that we are now Your children.
We now have citizenship in Your kingdom
and ready access to Your presence.
Thank You for Your overwhelming lovingkindness
toward us giving us the gift of faith
to believe what You say is true.
