A Fresh Look

Jesus

How many times do we pray and pray and think God hasn’t answered because I doesn’t look like how we pictured the answer?

He asks us to ask, seek, and knock, (Matthew 7:7), but nowhere does He leave the scripting to us. That’s His job. We’re not in charge. He is.

Many of the people who viewed Jesus, missed who He was because He didn’t look like the person they had scripted in their minds. He didn’t arrive on a white horse. He didn’t come and conquer Rome. He didn’t rule with an iron hand. He didn’t even have a place to call His own, let alone a palace.

Do we miss His very best for us while we expect Him to hatch the plan we’ve chosen, when all the while He’s answered us in an unlikely or unexpected way?

Perhaps we should repent of trying to be the script writer and leave the choices to Him. It seems to work best that way since our vision is short-sighted to say the least.

Begin this new year with praise and thanksgiving for His choices. They are always for our best.
