Loving Unlovely People

I John 3:14
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.

One test to know that we are truly born again is how we love people. Not just the ones who are easy to love, but those who are difficult.

If we are not truly born again we’re walking in darkness. That darkness will only be multiplied after our soul is separated from our body at death. Then, there will be no changing our minds. We will suffer eternally, separated from God in utter darkness.

If you find it’s difficult to love certain people, ask Jesus for His love in order to love those people. It’s amazing how He can do that. It’s like He gives us new eyes to see them with His love. Somehow, they lose their abrasiveness and we find ourselves loving them in spite of ourselves.

Lord Jesus, help me to love those
who rub me the wrong way.
I want to love as You do.
I want to forgive
with Your forgiveness.
I want to walk free
of any and all darkness
and enjoy Your marvelous light.

As a side note, I’ve published a new 366 day devotional book entitled Looking Deeper. It’s available in paperback and e-reader. Check it out here for paperback and here for eReader version.Looking_Deeper_Cover_for_Kindle
